Here is my article from the BE magazine that is published for the
Universities Alumni people. It's not major or anything, but it's still
a nice ego boost :)

Do you indicate ONTO a roundabout? Please cut up your license.
I'm seeing it more and more, and it annoys me. People indicating onto a round about. They approach the roundabout and indicate right, then proceed to go straight. Not only is it dangerous because other people have no idea of your intentions because you are saying you are turning right, but you don't. Now before everyone (well no one really because hardly anyone reads this :) starts saying that it's polite to indicate onto a round about, let me ask you this. You are approaching the round about, where else are you going to go? Unless you slam on your brakes, throw the car into reverse and do a GTA style spin of the car to get the hell out of there, we all know you are going to enter the round about, how you are going to exit it is any ones guess, that is where Mr Indicator comes in, which you just turned on to say you're exiting the round about right.
EDIT: It's ok to indicate if you are turning left/right on the roundabout. But if you are going straight and you indicate right to "enter" the roundabout. This one is for you.

Student bags get colourful.
I managed to get one of the new student bags that were handed out
during O week. They are in the new university colours and while scary
to look at to start with, stand out rather well when students are
walking around campus. It makes it feel like we have students again
now that we can identify them from a distance.
